Delegate!

I often get asked about timing for delegation. The truth is, the sooner you can delegate the items you don’t find joy in, or don’t drive revenue to your business, the happier you’ll be and the more money you’ll make. Boom!

I know, I know, not easier said than done. It’s the how and to whom though right? Here are some ideas…

Be creative. It works at home or at work! If its laundry you don’t enjoy and it’s stealing hours away from your family or business then hire a service. At work, perhaps you spend ours on data entry or payroll; automate it or hire it out! There are apps that automatically categorize your expenses with a snap of a pic from your phone, track mileage, programs that automatically send (and follow up on) emails, and the list goes on. Watch our Resources page for updates on new ideas.

If you aren’t at a place to hire staff there are contractors, virtual assistants, and/or services for almost anything you can imagine that you’d want to delegate.

I understand that delegating means trusting someone to do your work for you and that in itself can be stressful but wouldn’t you rather take a little time upfront to train someone to do something that is not joyful or not cost effective than wasting hours of time continuing to work on things you shouldn’t?

It all comes down to how much your time is worth. If you can hire someone or some service for less than you could make in that same hour or if cleaning the house is stealing the few hours a week you have left for self-care (your own sanity), then now is absolutely the time to delegate.

Remember to stop by our Resources page from time-to-time for updates on Resources, Affiliates, and Tools to delegate and automate more. Also, thank you to Alexza Mosquera, V.A. for putting together this list of items you can delegate to a virtual assistant!
