Attitude of Gratitude During the Season of Love

Hey you! Welcome to the last blog post of 2020, the craziest year yet, but damn we are close to the end.

So for this time tip, I am going to dive into gratitude and overwhelm. I have talked about gratitude quite a bit with Tick Tock, and it's a practice that has helped me manage two busy, but rewarding businesses. It helps show me the lesson in the moment. With holidays approaching, lets show gratitude for the items in our life, most importantly ourselves. It can be easier said than done to express gratitude, but a trick I have used is every time you touch your phone, name something you are grateful for. It can help you get into that habit and I promise you will start seeing the mental benefits and the act of being more present.

Also, maybe try paying for the coffee order behind you at Starbucks or lending your knowledge on your specialty to others. There are so many ways to share and give to others during the season of love.

In addition to gratitude, let’s work on not overwhelming ourselves. Setting boundaries with your loved ones can be super helpful. If you are not super comfortable seeing family and friends due to the pandemic, express that. It is okay to say no and to create new traditions this year. That might mean a Christmas Facetime or cookie bake-off. Whatever boundary that comes your way, put it in place and respect your own mental energy.

If your holidays do look a bit busy, I recommend scheduling your time out diligently by having purpose in your plans. I also recommend pre-planning out meals and having ingredients on hand and ready to go. Get your significant other, kids and whoever involved. It does not have to be all on your shoulders. Lastly, pre-plan shopping. There are so many cool options with shopping online with curbside pickup and delivery right to your door. I suggest checking out small businesses in your area, I know they would appreciate the support and all of their items are made with extra love.

So let's continue to spread positivity and remember it's okay to not be perfect this Christmas.

Love,

Tick Tock…It’s About Time
